Retirement Poem

I really want to thank you a lot,
For all the memories that I' ve got.
Starting in the mailroom from day one,
Up to now and after this day is done.
There was the good as well as the bad.
Such was the diversity that we all had.
There was a strike in eighty-nine,
In ninety-eight a short skate kept us in line.
Remember not the Alamo, remember Ma Bell,
Broken up by Judge Green they thought very well.
Hear new bells ringing in the west and the east,
But will it be cable or a cellular beast.
Once NY TEL,then NYNEX,now Bell Atlantic,
But you know it's more than just plain semantics.
Change the LOGO or change the whole name.
It really doesn't matter,it still remains the same.
It's not the name making companies so great.
It's the people that make companies first rate.
I thank the company for my standard of living,
And you for the memories and love that you're giving
